Winter descended upon us Vancouverites on Monday, December 5 with the first snowfall of the year. It was pretty bad, but it didn’t end there as Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning three days later. As we collectively hold our breaths in anticipation of Snowpocalypse 2016, here are ten thoughts:
- Just what we need. After braving the rain for two months straight (literally. it rained 28 days in October and 25 in November), our reward is a snowstorm. Double-whammy.
- My reaction on Monday morning during the first snowfall of the year.
- This is what commuters saw as they opened up Google Maps at 9:15am on Monday morning. No better time to put those PJs back on and hop back into the sack…
- … which is what I did when I found out my presentation that day was cancelled due to the snow. For a good reason too- this is what it was like on the mountain.
- lol montreal. I thought you guys were supposed to be used to snow. (Also on Monday)
- The second snowstorm was all over the news, with an expected 10-15cm of snow. Definitely more than last year’s whopping 0.00cm, but who can forget 2008?
- Remember the last time there was a big storm scare? It was very underwhelming.
- It started like that as well. There was next to no snowfall overnight on Thursday, so waking up this morning was more disappointing than the World Cup of Hockey viewing party.
- It did end up coming down pretty hard on Friday, but not to this extent.
- It wasn’t all bad though, especially if you were inside all day.
Will this snow continue? I have my last final exam on Monday. On one hand, I hope it gets cancelled so I don’t have to do it. However, that would mean the exam being rescheduled for December 19. Sometimes you just can’t win.
